Who we are - The Bavarian environmental cluster |

The Umweltcluster Bayern is a network of the Bavarian economy and science in the field of environmental technology. It follows the aim of actively strengthening the Bavarian environmental economy through cooperations straight along the total value added chain. Through simulation and stimulation of cluster effects it increases the competitiveness of Bavarian companies and induces an eminent surplus for Bavaria as a location for industry.
Among the members of the Cluster are companies, agents from research and development along with service providers and planers. All of them are working on integrating newest technologies to usable and marketable techniques.
Furthermore collaborate in the Umweltcluster Bayern:
- Economic institutions, policy and administration including the controlling institutions in the environmental sector, which are placing the surrounding conditions
- Public authorities as consumers of environmental products
- Capital providers and subsidies institutions
- Media and communication service providers
The Umweltcluster Bayern actively encourages the exchange between industry, science, capital providers and the administration. Furthermore it supports existing networks and works cooperates with them synergic. The Umweltcluster Bayern is for this reason the central platform as much as the competent contact person for all questions and activities in the environmental technology sector.
The network is charged in the framework of the Cluster Initiative Bavaria.
Hans G. Huber, spokesman of the Bavarian Environment Cluster, is responsible for strategic management. The committee's office is managed by Manuela Wimmer with support of her team as well as the IHK environmental abstractors. Legal and organisational framework for the Bayerische Umweltcluster interactions is the Trägerverein Umwelttechnologie–Cluster Bayern e.V., that was created by the Bavarian Industrie- und Handelskammern (IHKs), meanwhile also joined by the Handwerkskammern (HWKs) für München und Oberbayern and Niederbayern.
