Increasing traffic, growing population and rising consumption are the most important social trends and thus big challenges for the preservation of natural resources as well as the (life-)quality of air. Pollutants, that are delivered through burning of conventional energy sources and emitted to the surrounding air, have harmful consequences to men and nature. To the main sources of such pollutants belongs the producing industry, common power plants for the production of current and heat and over all the traffic, who is moreover main causative for growing noise emissions. Air pollution, CO2-emissions and noise disturbance cause enormous external costs; as a consequence the air pollution prevention takes a significant role.
Treatments for air pollution prevention and noise protection have to consider ecologic and economic requirements. At this they are applying the reduction and prevention of pollutant and noise disposal. In the area of air pollution prevention contain these accordant techniques therefore use the production integrated as well as the additive, thus down streamed environment protection. In the area of noise protection it is do differentiate between active methods at the acoustic source and passive methods at the imission place.
The market for air prevention techniques – exemplary could be mentioned catalytic converters, filters or facilities for low emission production, is big and has thanks to rising export markets a further growing potential. According to appraisals of the industrial union Allgemeine Lufttechnik of the VDMA (Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbauer) the sales volume of air pollution prevention techniques for industrial applications in the year 2008 was over two billion EUR. The fraction oft he Bavarian environment companies, based on the results of a current ifo-study, was more than eleven percent. This corresponds to a sales volume of about 250 million EUR. In contrast the sales volume of the Bavarian environmental economy in 2008 in the noise protection field was circa 130 million EUR. |
